For more than 5 years now we have been sponsors of Real Zaragoza, as a way of supporting sport and the team of our city.

Taking advantage of Real Zaragoza’s last league match, which also coincided with the farewell of such a legendary player as Zapater, we held a “Cooking Party” where we got down to the stoves to enjoy a culinary experience in pure Zaragoza style.

What did the Cooking Party consist of?

Last 24 May, with views of the Zaragoza skyline, thanks to the incredible venue chosen for the event, the River Hall restaurant located on the top floor of the Aura complex, 12 guests including players, fans and influencers became authentic chefs to cook two of our famous pastas.

The cooking session consisted of a team competition led by two of the Zaragoza players, Alejandro Francés and Jaira Amador, who battled it out at the stoves to come out winners of this culinary experience.

Each team was made up of 6 of the guests, before being placed in the hands of chef Iván Acedo, who explained each of the pasta recipes they had to recreate and some tips so that the final result would be 5 stars.

For this, each guest had a recipe book in which to consult the ingredients and how to prepare the dish. And as it is very important to be prepared, Pastas Romero aprons could not be missing, to turn our cooks into authentic chefs.

Which Pastas Romero recipes were recreated at the Cooking Party?

Although Pastas Romero has a wide variety of pastas, on this occasion we opted for one of our most classic varieties, the “Farfalle” or also known as bow ties. The other pasta chosen was one of our recent novelties, “Pasta Sabore Garlic and Spicy”, a pasta with 100% natural ingredients with a natural flavour that allowed attendees to try different styles of pasta, all with excellent quality and made with care.

Each team made one of the proposed recipes, while being watched by the other team, who acted as jury along with the cooks and staff of Real Zaragoza and Pastas Romero.

Pasta Sabore “Garlic and Spicy” Puttanesca recipe

One of the chosen recipes was Pasta Sabore “Garlic and Spicy” Puttanesca, due to the unique and special flavour given by the pasta itself, combined with a typical recipe such as Puttanesca which contains ingredients such as anchovies, capers and black olives that wonderfully accompanied our pasta.

Not forgetting the final touch of chilli pepper, which was one of the most complicated tasks for the competitors, since the spiciness was an ingredient that could become a point of contention for the other team that was the jury of this dish.

Classic Farfalle Carbonara recipe

As pasta lovers, another recipe that could not be missing from the cooking session was the traditional Farfalle Carbonara dish. In this case, a more elaborate recipe was sought where the team cooked the classic Carbonara composed of: bacon, egg yolks, parmesan cheese and all of it seasoned with freshly ground black pepper.

An elaborate preparation, which presented our guests with the complicated task of whipping up the egg yolks, which is often mistakenly replaced with cream.

How did the Cooking Party turn out in the end?

The following process was carried out to choose the winner. On one hand, each team cooked and finished plating, and the other team was in charge of judging with great criteria as Pastas Romero lovers, which was the best dish of the team that had to cook the same recipe.

Between teasing and laughter, the tasting of the different dishes was carried out, until two winners of this Cooking Party emerged for each of the recipes. However, we have to say that it was quite close because our participants gave it their all, both in cooking and in presenting the best possible pasta dish.

So much so that, as the climax of the Cooking Party experience, each of the guests took home some Pastas Romero gifts along with the cooked recipes so that, as they themselves told us, they could recreate them at home and become real little chefs.
