At Pastas Romero we are collaborating once again with the San Jorge University by sponsoring the contest “Build the skyscraper of your dreams”, organised by the School of Architecture, whose final took place on 26 April.
This contest, which is now in its eighth edition, is aimed at schools in Aragón. On this occasion, the contest had the participation of more than 140 students from various schools, including the Colegio San Valero, Colegio Santa Ana, IES Cinco Villas, Colegio La Concepción and Colegio Romareda.
What does the contest consist of?
During the day, the students, grouped in teams of up to 5 people, had to build a skyscraper of at least one metre high and capable of supporting a load of one kilogram.
The peculiarity of this challenge lay in the fact that the materials used to build the skyscrapers were exclusively various types of pasta and glue. For this they had a pasta kit donated by the contest sponsor, Pastas Romero.
The participating groups went through an initial first phase in which each one presented their own bridge in their school, and from among all the teams, the contest committee chose one.
Subsequently, the final was held at the facilities of the San Jorge University and the prizes were awarded.

Background of the contest
This contest has been running for several years, although with some variations compared to this one. Previously the contest consisted of making a bridge instead of a skyscraper, under the slogan: “build a bridge to the future”.
The characteristics were the same, with Pastas Romero as sponsor, students had to build a bridge of at least one metre in length and able to support one kilogram on it.

Contest winners
In a contest that was very close, the team from Corazonistas La Mina school was finalist, while the final winner was the IES Cinco Villas.

For Pastas Romero it has been a real pleasure to participate once again as sponsor of the contest “Build the skyscraper of your dreams”. They have been very entertaining days thanks to the interest and enthusiasm of the participants, where creativity, illusion and perseverance could be seen.
We hope that this collaboration continues in the future, inspiring more students to “build the skyscrapers of their dreams”.
